The project
Numero is our own platform for running a small business online. A business signs in once and gets its website, booking pages, and the services behind them in the same place.
We built it because the businesses we spoke with were paying for several separate tools that did not talk to each other, and spending more time managing logins than serving customers.
/ 02
What it does
Build the website
Create and update a business website without a designer or developer, and publish changes straight away.
Take bookings
Let customers pick a service and a time online, so the owner is not confirming every appointment by phone.
Run the services behind it
Keep customer records, booking details, and service settings together, ready for the website to use.
One login per business
Each business has its own private space. Staff sign in once and only ever see their own business's data.

The brief
The challenge
Small businesses juggle separate tools and logins for their website, bookings, and day-to-day services.
How we gathered the requirements
We started by sitting with salon owners, consultants, and small agencies and listing every tool they paid for and every task they repeated each week.
The same pattern came up again and again: a website on one service, bookings on another, customer details in a notebook or spreadsheet. That list became the first version of the product.
Website builders and agencies told us they wanted to set businesses up quickly and hand them over, so that shaped how accounts and access work.

How we approached it
- 01
Start with the daily job
We designed around the three things owners do every day: update the site, accept a booking, and look up a customer.
- 02
Release early to real users
A small first release went to a handful of businesses so we could watch how they used it before adding more.
- 03
Grow in small steps
New features were added one at a time, each one tested with existing users before it reached everyone.

Challenges we solved
Challenge
Keeping every business's data separate while running them all on one platform.
How we solved it
Each business gets its own private space from the moment it signs up, and every sign-in is tied to that space, so one business can never see another's customers or bookings.
Challenge
Owners who are not technical were nervous about building their own website.
How we solved it
We kept editing simple and visual, with sensible starting layouts, so a business can have a working site the same day and refine it later.
Challenge
Booking rules differ a lot from one business to the next.
How we solved it
Instead of building one fixed booking flow, we made services, durations, and availability settings each business controls itself.
/ 06
The result
Numero is live and used by businesses to run their website and bookings from one login.
Owners manage their online presence themselves instead of waiting on a developer for small changes.
Bookings arrive already organised, rather than scattered across calls and messages.
/ 07
How we run it today
We operate Numero ourselves. We watch it in production, ship improvements regularly, and handle support directly, so feedback from businesses goes straight to the people building it.
