The project
Aetheron Retail is a retail and point-of-sale platform we are building for shops with more than one branch. It covers products, prices, stock, purchasing, and checkout across every store and stockroom.
It is designed around how retail works in Sri Lanka, where a business often runs several branches, a central warehouse, and many cashiers.

What it does
Every branch in one place
See stock, sales, and staff activity for each branch, or for the whole business at once.
Products and prices
Manage products, barcodes, and price lists centrally and send changes to every store at the same time.
Stock that adds up
Move stock between branches, run stock counts, and know exactly where every item is.
Buying and receiving
Raise purchase orders to suppliers and check goods in when they arrive.
Fast checkout
Cashiers scan, take payment, and handle returns quickly, even at busy times.
Who did what
Every price change, stock movement, and sale is recorded, with dashboards that show how each branch is performing.

The brief
The challenge
Retailers with several branches, stockrooms, and tills lose track of prices, stock, and staff activity across locations.
How we gathered the requirements
We visited retailers and spent time at their tills, in their stockrooms, and with the owners who try to keep track of it all.
The same problems came up in every business: prices that did not match between branches, stock that disappeared during transfers, and no clear record of who changed what.
Cashiers told us speed matters more than anything at the counter, so checkout was treated as its own design problem from the start.

How we approached it

Get the stock right first
Products, branches, and stock movements came first, because every other part of a shop depends on accurate stock.

Then the counter
Checkout and returns are being built on top, designed for speed and for cashiers with little training time.

Dashboards and audit history give owners a clear view across every location.

Challenges we solved
Challenge
Prices and stock drifting out of step between branches.
How we solved it
Products and price lists are managed in one place and pushed to every branch, and every stock movement must be recorded on both ends.
Challenge
Owners cannot be in every store, but need to trust what happens there.
How we solved it
Staff permissions are set per branch and per role, and every important action is logged with who did it and when.
Challenge
Checkout must stay quick even when the shop is at its busiest.
How we solved it
The till screen is kept to the essentials, with scanning and returns designed to need as few steps as possible.

Where it stands
Aetheron Retail is in development and not yet available to customers.
Branch, product, and stock management are being built and tested first, with checkout following.
We plan to roll it out with a small group of retailers before opening it more widely.

How we will run it
Aetheron Retail will be run by our team as a hosted service, with onboarding for each branch and ongoing support for store staff.
